Our strategic aims |
|
| |
| |
We share our vision with the Tynedale Local Strategic Partnership:
'Working together to improve the quality of life in Tynedale'.
We have four corporate aims behind our vision. |
| |
| 1. Improving our economy |
| |
We aim to:
- help provide secure employment and create quality jobs;
- support and promote co-ordinated, high quality lifelong learning opportunities;
- encourage local trading and promote new businesses;
- Promote and develop Tynedale as a place tourists want to visit; and
- promote and improve communication links.
|
|
|
| 2. Strengthening our communities |
| |
We aim to:
- create better access to, and promote greater use of, local facilities and services;
- make sure there is a suitable range of housing available to meet the needs of all members of the community;
- promote the improvement of the health, wellbeing and care of local people;
- provide a wide range of good-quality, affordable and accessible leisure and culture opportunities;
- help all individuals or groups have the opportunity to take a full part in their communities; and
- create a safer environment for everyone.
|
|
|
| 3. Protecting our environment |
| |
We aim to:
- reduce the damaging effect people have on the environment;
- protect and improve our heritage, landscape and wildlife; and
- maintain and improve the character and quality of towns and villages.
|
|
|
| 4. Delivering excellent corporate performance |
| |
We aim to:
- lead the community by working with our partners to develop a shared vision and by using our resources and efforts to achieve this vision;
- use 'best value' to improve our services;
- make clear decisions in good time in a fair way, and encourage local involvement;
- support new ideas when delivering services and motivate all staff to achieve the best possible outcome; and
- make all our aims, priorities and targets clear in all our plans, and use these to improve performance.
